Date Log
Who: Chiaki Saionji (chaiki_saionji) & L Lawliet (mister_coil)
What: The Classic First Date
When: 7 p.m., Oct 05
Where: Small Dining Area.
Status: CLOSED, In-Progress
Warnings: None yet.

The room had a simple layout. Golden walls were lined with red curtains and the table had a matching table cloth. The lighting was typical, nothing overly romantic and the meals were already on the table with two settings waiting for the people to come and have their meal. Dessert was nearby, equally covered with silver dishes and water and tea was left for them to drink.

Chiaki had gotten lost in thoughts of wha was going on in Japan when she left, and if it was still the same or if everything had been resolved. Her main concern was whether ororon had managed to find somewhere safe to heal himself, that wound had looked really bad.

She hadn't noticed her Date arrive or sit, which confused her, she must have really been out of it, so much so, she jumped when he spoke, her head snapping around to look at him. He sounded extremely bored, apparently neither of them wanted to be there.

She gave him a little smile and moved over to the table, settling into the opposite seat. "Sorry, I wasn't concentrating." She explained, lifting the lid off of her own plate and setting it to the side. Without the domed metal covering, the smell of the food wafted over her and it smelt delicious. Roast. She smiled and glanced up at the guy sat opposite her.
"What did you get?" she asked in a casual way. Even if neither of them were really interested in this date, at least the food would be good.

L wasn't the least bit bothered by his date's seemingly lack of interest. If anything he was grateful for it. He didn't like to be questioned, and so far she hadn't commented on his strange appearance or simple choice of clothing.

She didn't seem to be much of a threat, then again, neither did Misa and Light. Light, moreso than Misa. He pushed those thoughts away. He needed to think about the task at hand and how to get home. At the question, he refocused on his plate, setting the lid aside.

The food looked...normal. Well, as normal as the types of things L ate. Various things all of sweet nature. But, L focused his eyes on his date, lips slack before simply mumbling. "Food." He reached for a fork, lifting it daintily before carefully eating a bite. It didn't taste poisonous...

Chiaki laughed softly at his mumble. Obviously he would rather have been somewhere else. Well, so would she, but she could see no way of getting ther. "You don't talk much, do you?" she joked. Noticing that he had started eating, she followed suit, savouring the rich flavours of the food before her.

After a few moments of quiet she looked up at him again. "I'm Chiaki by the way." She pointed out, relising she didn't know his name.

[sorry it's short, trying to think of what to say]

"I talk plenty when there is a subject of importance that I need to share information on." L hald mumbled, but decided to speak a little more clear. He could be rude and downright annoying, but this girl seemed to have patience, even find his actions amusing. She vaguely reminded him of someone else he knew.

He stared at his fork after having swallowed the bite, wide black eyes slowly drifting from the utensil to her and focusing, even going so far as to stare for a few seconds. Chiaki was definately a Japanese name, and with the arrival of new Kiras and passing of power he couldn't be too careful. It was likely that she'd heard of one of his many aliases. His reputation as far as names went was worldwide.

"I'm Hideki." He gave a smile that was entirely childish as he scooped another bite into his mouth.

"Oh, okay." She pursed her lips and took another mouthful. The food here was delicious. But it made her think of Miss Lucy, the maid Ororon ad brought back from hell to cook for them after she tried to serve him burnt toast for breakfast.

Her vision blurred for a moment, but she blinked the thoughts away. crying would do nothing for the situation. She prodded a bit of meat on her plate for a few moments then he spoke again. "Hideki," she repeated so she could remember it for later use if she saw him around the hotel. She couldn't not grin back at his childish smile. The first non bored looking thing he has done.

"So, are you in the same situation as the rest of us then?" She asked. "I mean, did you get that weird book saying that we were here to find love? Do you think that is the only way to get home?" She finished, wondering his oppinion on the matter. That was what Chaiki really wanted to know, how to get home.

L nodded, carefully forking rather large bites to stuff into his mouth. His table manners were questionable and he rarely had issues eating infront of people. He licked the fork off after he'd swallowed, not at all bothered by his 'date's seemingly lost appearance.

If she was lost in thoughts that only meant he didn't have to entertain her as would normally be expected of the man.

He caught her grin and inwardly smirked. She was definitely a unique girl. Though, when she began talking of the book and of the hotel his body stiffened slightly, not even enough that someone would notice unless they had known him for a long time. Someone like Quillish.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." He sat up a little straighter, but that wasn't saying much considering the odd way he sat anyway, hands going on his knees as his toes curiously touched to each other. "Do you know something about this place that I don't?"
chiaki_saionji on October 8th, 2009 04:51 am (UTC)
Chiaki gave him a curious look as he suddenly went very awkard looking, sitting straigther than he already had bee, and sounding somewhat defencive.
"No, thats why I was asking. I was just wondering if everyone here was as confused by what was happening as I was." She told him, sitting back in her chair.

"The only other person I met here got the little book thing as well, it was saying stuff like 'something has been keeping you from the one you love...' and all that. I was just wondering if you knew how we were able to get home."
mister_coil on October 9th, 2009 01:08 am (UTC)
Wide black eyes stared unblinkingly at her for several seconds, his body completely still as he add up any information. "Nothing is keeping me from the one I love because I do not love anyone."

He shook his head, focusing on his food again, there was no reason to let it go to waste and it didn't appear Watari was here to cook for him. "I do not know how to get home. Do you have any other information on this place?"
chiaki_saionji on October 9th, 2009 05:21 am (UTC)
Chiaki sighed. "Why are you being so formal?" She asked. She wasn't used to people being so incredibly formal when they spoke to her, but not many people spoke to her. Ororon was a bit formal when they first met, but he isn't even formal any more, if he was alright.

Would he know she wasn't there? or maybe she was and this was a dream...

"I don't really know much either, though I dont know if there are any staff here, I havent seen any. Do you know how many people are here?" She asked. It almost felt like she was trying to interigate him. was that why he was being formal? She took another mouth of food, but kept looking at him.
mister_coil on October 9th, 2009 05:24 pm (UTC)
L blinked, genuinely surprised by that. He never thought his way of talking to new people was formal, but maybe it was. After all, he was hardly a people person, not even around Watari. Maybe this was what he got for locking himself up all the time.

"I'm sorry." He gave another of those childish smiles, hands relaxing on his knees. "I have stayed in my room since I arrived and was able."
chiaki_saionji on October 9th, 2009 07:07 pm (UTC)
Chiaki smiled. "Don't worry, I was just wondering if you were always like that, or if you were just uncomfortable." She shrugged.

"I've met one other person in this hotel that wasn't you, and He is as confused about all this as we are." She informed him. "Why did you stay in your room?"
